Every child joins one permanent House. Each House has its own identity, colours and traditions, but every House needs every kind of child.
Only 100 children will join the first Kew, Melbourne cohort.
No child needs to be the sporty kid to matter.
Most holiday programs end when the last day is over. House League gives children an identity they can carry forward.
Every child joins one of four permanent Houses. They wear its colours, earn points alongside their teammates and return to the same House at future events.
The games will change. Their House will remain. One league. Four permanent identities.
Every House needs every kind of child.
“Light it up!”
Spark sees possibilities. Its members ask questions, test ideas and help their teammates find another way through a challenge.
“Let’s go!”
Rush brings energy to the moment. Its members step forward, get involved and help their teammates turn a plan into action.
Rush is about joining in and taking initiative — not how fast you can run.
“Rise again!”
Rise responds when things become difficult. Its members learn from setbacks, encourage one another and return to the next challenge ready to try again.
“All together!”
Rally brings people together. Its members listen, include others and help every teammate contribute to the result.
Your House is a team, not a label. Thinkers, movers, helpers and leaders belong in all four.
Five quick questions. Do it with your grown-up.
One of my kids lives for sport — the first one onto the field, the last one to come in. The other would rather build, imagine and invent something none of us saw coming.
I’ve booked a lot of holiday programs over the years. Most of them quietly reward one kind of child. One of mine would come home buzzing. The other would come home a bit smaller.
The idea for House League came from somewhere else entirely: camping. Out there, nobody cares who’s fastest. One kid gets the fire going, another works out the tent, another keeps everyone laughing when it rains. By the end of a trip, kids who’d never met are a crew — and you can see them shine, because they know they matter to the group.
That’s the feeling I wanted to bottle. A place where every kind of kid has a team that needs them, and a House they belong to long after the holidays end.
House League is built for both of my kids. I hope it’s built for yours too.
“Kids shine when they know they belong.”
Be one of the first to wear the colours.
Only 100 children will compete in the first House League championship. They will become the original members of Spark, Rush, Rise and Rally. Every House League season that follows will trace its story back to them.
